XMD Mold Design software
|
I will be seeing a Demo of XMD on Mar 1st. Anybody have any insight or input about that software that will help me ask intelligent questions???? I looked into it for (Ver 99)but could convince the boss the benefits of buying at that time.
Does it still work the same way or have they adapted it to use the assembly structure in KC.
I appreciate any input from those more knowledgable than myself.

Hey everyone,
I quite often have mold designs that use my 3D and 2D entities and XMD entities. The best way for me to get HLR and plotter output is by going into layout mode and doing HLD and tweaking a line or two here or there. Once I get that layout the way I like it, I have very little luck exporting it so it can be read into other CAD systems. Some of our customers want the 2D design in electronic form.
ANY THOUGHTS would be greatly appreciated.

I only get some of the layout. The layout instance seems to fail to
translate (sometimes). It doesn't always maintain the lines that I have either.

I tried it on the file I was on today and ended up with one of those dreaded
"UE" errors. I typically don't like the results I get from bursting. Also, I don't like
having to regenerate a new layout eveytime I change something.
